• Have there been more or less sport-affiliated people in the industry? (Applying for jobs etc.)
• How did you work your way up in the industry?
• Is your work more fun then work or more work then fun?

How To Manage Very Very Frizzy Wavy Hair?

I’ve seriously tried every product out there on the market(mousses, gels, serums, hair sprays, creams, leave in conditioners, permanent straightening,John Freida Frizz Ease Line). I even bought a CHI flat iron but it still takes me about 2 hours to flat iron my hair. It’s very thick. I am 3/4 white and 1/4 black. Please please please help me I am so desperate! My hair is always frizzy and I hate it because it looks hideous and NOTHING makes it look pretty and curly. When it frizzes, it goes out like 5 inches, and looks really gross and unhealthy) I already use a comb and never brush it when it’s wet and use a leave in conditioner every week. I want to look nice for school but I can’t lose 2 hours of sleep just to straighten my hair, that’s crazy. Please please please help me! I will be forever grateful if you suggest something that works!
Also, can I curl my hair(with a curling iron) when it’s frizzy? Or will it not work?
My hair pretty much looks like this on a daily basis so I usually just put it in a bun:http://www.google.com/imgres?q=frizzy+ha…

A Little Question On Ireland, The Irish Practises. Hope Someone Could Help.?

I’m in the process of writing a story set in Ireland.
I was wondering on certain details that I hope local irish folks may be able to help me out with.
1) Right now, in 2011 do you think there are still kids who are brought up solely in small irish villages with old values and traditions? You know, they wake up, go to the national school and when they come home they help their parents out in the farm or something…
2) Do you think there are kids who, being brought up in the countryside/villages from family who dont have a lot of money, have never been to the city?
3) Are there still families who hold on to Irish tradition as it is, speaking Gaelic and all? I know the language is mostly affiliated with culture and tradition but it is still the official language is it right? So are there families who still speak Gaelic on a daily basis?
4) What county will you say have the most villages and countryside and still practise old Irish traditions? I heard it is Co. Galway but I may be wrong..
I’m not asking these questions to sort of undermine the Irish but I am really curious. I am very impressed that the Irish have mostly been able to stay true to their roots while at the same time keep up with the urbanisation.
So I was just wondering if there are still parts of Ireland that are the same as they was or at least haven’t changed much in terms of tradition and culture..

Maintaining Usef/ushja Amateur Status?

Hey. I compete in jumpers and am trying not to loose my amateur status. I’ve never taught for money (often volunteer my time teaching for free or coaching at shows though – always unpaid) but am getting ready to undertake in something that I’m not sure would cause me to loose my amateur status.
My parents own a small property (10 acres) that we have slowly built into a small equestrian center. It was just me riding at the barn then my brother but now we’ve started into sales. With the bad market we’ve found a little niche taking in unbroke fuglies off craigslist, breaking them, putting 3 months on them and selling. Sometimes we make money off them but more often that not the ones in poor condition cost us far more than we sell them for but we enjoy it.
I manage the horses on a daily basis, train them, market them and show them to potential buyers. Does this cause me to loose my amateur status? Since I have done fairly well at selling these horses, a few people have asked me to ride, market and show their horses to buyers. I don’t get paid for this but if/when I can get the horse to sell, I get 10% of the sale price for my efforts. (Usually about $100-$200 for 4+ months of work).
So basically, can I be a barn manager and sales agent without loosing my amateur status?
Thanks

Should I Have Different Friends?

I know everyone thinks highschool doesn’t really matter friendship wise, but a lot of the time I feel uncomfortable with my friends. I’m interested in medieval art, classic literature, and contemporary art while they know nothing about anything on those particular subjects and certainly would never accompany me to an art exhibition or look at my art pieces and give me honest, profound feedback instead of just saying, “oh how nice!” and veer off topic to gossip. We have nothing in common and a lot of the time this upsets me because I’m like a foreign person to them. They misinterpret me on a daily basis and get impatient when I try and talk about art or literature. Most of them don’t even read for leisure purposes. I feel like I’m a different species because they don’t understand me at all and don’t try to…
Is that totally normal? I’m I just being picky and weird? I know there are actually people in my school who share interests with me but I don’t really approach me because none of my friends are affiliated with them and they’re part of a whole different group…
