Free Online Children’s Literature Course – Blog?

It’s a long shot, but a few years ago I found a blog where the owner was conducting an informal children’s literature course over the summer through their blog. I have searched high and low for this, but have been unable to refind it. I am pretty sure that it was not affiliated with any college or university, just an opportunity for teachers, librarians and anyone else interested to learn more about children’s literature. If I remember correctly the background was gray or light brown. If anyone can offer any suggestions, I would be most grateful! Thank you!

I Need Someone To Check My Essay About Gothic As Well As Give Advise About Conclusion And Introduction?

Goth has opened the minds and inspired a lot of people throughout time. There is so much that can tell us about gothic such as gothic architecture, literature, music etc… (think syou could add anything to this)
Gothic architecture is a style of architecture which flourished from the 12th to the 16th century. Most gothic buildings had pointed arches, stained glass windows, narrow spires and flying buttresses. All this is to symbolize the upward movement of heaven. Gothic architecture is the most familiar as the architecture of many great cathedrals, abbey, parish churches, castles, palaces, town halls and universities of Europe. It is in the great churches and cathedrals that gothic style was expressed most powerfully.
Gothic literature is a genre that combines horror and romance. As a genre it is generally believed to have been invented but English author Horace Walpole, with his 1764 novel ‘The Castle of Otranto’. After that a lot of people were encouraged to write in gothic style. A typical Gothic story is set in and around a castle – ruined or otherwise usually graveyard, cave, convent, monastery, church, cathedral, chapel, dungeon or charnel house. Gothic atmosphere is really important. Towers, trapdoors, mysterious corridors, rusty hinges, tunnels, and lightless niches all serve to entrap their helpless victims. Flickering candles, burial vaults, tolling bells, hidden manuscripts, curses and prophecies, suits of armor, ghosts, clanking chains, animated portraits, lamps, evil potions and spells, fluttering bats, storms, lightening, and howling winds add to the aura of terror and mystery that define the Gothic genre. A wide range of elements that create a sense of terror, decay, despair, or death can contribute to a Gothic setting. Heroes and hero-victims, villains, and split-personalities found in Gothic fiction tend to fit certain characteristic molds. They are somber, diabolic, or pure and angelic virtue, or they are a combination of those types.
Gothic music has different styles and meanings. ‘How Beautiful You Are’ is a song by Robert Smith. The song is about love. A short summary of the song would be that there is this beautiful woman. A man and his father pass by and both the man and his father both say ‘How Beautiful You Are’. As mentioned before gothic is both romance and horror another example of a gothic song would be ‘Tainted Love’ by Marilyn Manson. This song is more horror type. It’s about these people who are having a party. It’s all very bright until a couple of people come along and ruin the brightness in this party, the room goes all black. The music sounds very heavy but the lyrics aren’t that depressive. These two songs show how gothic music can have different ways of expressing what it is.

Should I Have Different Friends?

I know everyone thinks highschool doesn’t really matter friendship wise, but a lot of the time I feel uncomfortable with my friends. I’m interested in medieval art, classic literature, and contemporary art while they know nothing about anything on those particular subjects and certainly would never accompany me to an art exhibition or look at my art pieces and give me honest, profound feedback instead of just saying, “oh how nice!” and veer off topic to gossip. We have nothing in common and a lot of the time this upsets me because I’m like a foreign person to them. They misinterpret me on a daily basis and get impatient when I try and talk about art or literature. Most of them don’t even read for leisure purposes. I feel like I’m a different species because they don’t understand me at all and don’t try to…
Is that totally normal? I’m I just being picky and weird? I know there are actually people in my school who share interests with me but I don’t really approach me because none of my friends are affiliated with them and they’re part of a whole different group…

Could Someone Please Critique My Creative Writing?

I am considering a future in horrific, double-entendre-ridden, romantic literature, and need to know whether my hand suits this particular *niche*.
Allow me to select a *passage* completely at random:
‘Martha then chortled in anticipation, as her gape enveloped Reginalds protruding girth. As they became one, Martha enquired “Is it in yet?”, at which point Reginald exclaimed “I was about to ask you the same thing”. This lack of sensation drew our heroes to the sobering conclusion that their days of ‘feeling’ acts of illicit congress may indeed be behind them. So they had a f-a-g’
Taken out of context, this could seem like deeply disturbing, and un-romantic prose. But please bear in mind that this story follows an ageing married couple that used to work as secret agents, but got made redundant after their secret agency over-spent on pens that control local wasp populations. So now they are trying to inject the excitement back into their lives by making sex. But decades of engaging in ‘secret-agent’ levels of sexual promiscuity have unfortunately nullified their bits.
Do I have a future?
