Sudhir Yadav lives in a city in country Z. The city has a big Indian population. When Sudhir was looking for a business oppurtunity he identified a niche market in selling saris and similar clothes to Indian ladies. He imports the clothes from country X and sells them to retailers in his city.
Sudhirs business is that of a wholesaler. Why do you think that retailers in country Z don’t buy their clothes directly from the suppliers?
If the currency of country Z appreciated in value how would this affect the profitability of Sudhir’s business? Explain your answer.
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE! xxx

I’m starting a web based business for a niche market and am looking for a cheap way to advertize. the site should soon gain international popularity if I can get the word out effectively.
I was thinking something like fb or twitter would be great, though I’m not really social media savvy myself.
The site should be popular among the niche since it’s free and useful.
Any insight?

you are a molecular biologist working at a biotech company. your CEO has identified an untapped niche market – canadian bachelor farmers – and thinks the company can make millions developing new crops to sell them. your assignment is to develop, for the pickle industry, frost-resistant cucumbers that glow fluorescent green so they are easy to find in the dark. you have identified the Northern cod as a fish species that produces the appropriate anti-freeze protein (AFP). you are also able to buy a plasmid from BioRad Laboratories containing the gene from a jellyfish species that produces a glowing fluorescent protein (GFP).
1. you obtain Arctic cod and raise them in an aquarium in the lab. your first step is to make a genomic DNA library from the cod. describe this process. be specific!

I’m in the process of building a unique website that should attract a good number of repeat visitors in a niche market. I personally think most ads are sooo annoying. But then I want to make money too.
The website will offer an ongoing service and develop a semiloyal following who will hopefully refer their friends. So I could charge for subscriptions or sell adspace or both.
For simplicity sake it seems the best bet would be subscriptions, but then I would lose so many people who are looking for a freebie. I would retain some paying customers though.
I wouldn’t know where to begin by making money with ads, but then everybody would run to my site because it was free. What do you guys think? Should I offer free accounts with ads and paid accounts without ads?

Admittedly I’ve no experience in business at all, but the idea of having your own business – being your own boss – sounds an appealing one. How do you come up with a decent idea, though? Is it all about looking for a niche market or doing something established already? Are there any surefire prospects or is it all hit and miss? Anything worth trying?
Thanks.
