Good Online Business Ideas?

Before i start, please give this question some thought to what it is i want (best answer will be rewarded)
I want some good business ideas for making money online with out relying on search engines and affiliates in the future!
I am thinking on a large scale and of course over many years and a lot of time and money spent to get this really big.
What i mean is:
Relying on search engines and affiliate programs at first to grow the business of course. But I don’t want to rely on any affiliate programs like AdSense for my income nor the search engines forever, i want to be able to forget about them and have a online business that stands on its own 2 feet.
Some might say search engines with PPC, they are good, but this is not what i want to start, the competition is at the top.
Having my own PPC ads is something worth having a look at, like Facebook, it is not a search engine, but they do have PPC ads and Facebook don’t need search engines for users or any affiliates for their income.
So any ideas? even if they take a long time to get established, I am not looking to make any quick money or any decent money for few years, I am in it for the long run.
Thanks for reading my long winded question.

Think of a business that is based on what you are most interested in doing and on what you are most skilled at. You might also want to look at what services are in demand these days.
    For example:
    1. Social media
    2. Market research
    3. Website design
    4. Website development
If you don’t have any of these skills, you can still make money by hiring people with these set of skills to work for you. You get them clients, you earn money, you pay them what is due to them.
Whatever business you decide to do later on, make sure you do some market research to back up your decisions. With the right market research, it would be easier to come up with product ideas and with strong and effective marketing strategies.

If you want to move on from the typical Google based ventures (face it, 90% of online businesses depend on Google), then I’d recommend looking into mobile marketing. Of course, Google has hopped on that bandwagon too but they don’t have nearly as strong of a grip on it. Competition right now is really low but the opportunities are way higher than working with standard search engines.
So what I would do is start a mobile business. You will have a standard website as well, but you should focus on mobile optimization as much as possible. Smartphones are the “next big thing” right now, and even as a hardcore PC/anti-Apple person I have to concede that the iPhone and iPad are doing extraordinarily well right now šŸ˜›
Advertising on mobile browsers and applications is way cheaper than traditional Google PPC ads, and it’s way more targeted. There are also way more people with mobile phones than with internet on a home PC (about 5 billion mobile phones compared to 1.8 billion computers with internet). Most people have their phones on them for more time than they spend on the computer too. You can take advantage of this.
Start off with building a list and promoting mobile-optimized CPA or affiliate pages. With the money from this, invest in your own mobile optimized site. Continue building your list, and outsource the creation of a few smartphone apps. Promote the apps to your mobile list. You can charge for the apps if you want to make some extra cash. Then, after you have lots of users on your applications, you’ll have other mobile marketers looking to advertise on your application and you’ll make money from that too.
You’ll have many different streams of income and a lot of long term potential. Mobile marketing has more future potential than most other methods in my opinion. If you can, you might want to get in on this webinar: http://tinyurl.com/MobileMasterminds
Adam Horwitz is a genius when it comes to mobile marketing. He’s the guy behind Mobile Monopoly (http://tinyurl.com/MobileInternetMarketiā€¦ ) which is what got me into this stuff, and he definitely knows what he’s talking about. I’d say it’s definitely something to consider. Good luck!
