Should I Make Another E-mail For College And Professional Affiliated Contacts?

For example, i’m about to be a senior and my main e-mail the one I use for school, Facebook and other stuff is my name and a 3 digit number….. _> name123@yahoo.com…
Is this unprofessional, does it matter,
I already signed up for collegeboard with this e-mail….and collegexpress….i still need to sign up for scholarships

YES!!! First of all, it avoids making mistakes like sending a picture of your bf to the school instead of your letter, 2nd it makes a great impression. I actually got hired once for a job partly because my email address indicates that I am a secretary. He actually asked me if I did that deliberately and I hadn’t… I just have a REALLLY common name. This was created way back when Yahoo first started. If I didn’t already HAVE the name I have I would have created another one for professional use.

I don’t think your email will matter too much as long as it is reasonable. Making a new email could be such a hassle and remembering all of them. I’ve made a ton of them. For babysitting, for facebook, for youtube, and then theres one’s we need to make at school and so much more. Also, when signing up for youtube they make you create a gmail everytime aswell. Its soo annoying, anyways my point is, as long as your email isn’t something that shows your true colors, ex “IHateGayPeople@hotmail” etc, something hateful or discriminitive or down right stupid, your email that you have right now is perfectly fine

I don’t think your email matters for those sites. Why do you need a “professional” one anyway? I don’t think they one you’re using is bad at all, it’s not like “sexi_mami69@yahoo.com” or something.
When you go to college, they will assign you an email just for you. You can use that one when you need a professional kind. You could also do what I did for my resume: made an email like this: first.lastname@yahoo.com” and then I set it up to forward all email to my main account (I do this with my school email, too). But really, at this point you don’t need a different email for the things you are doing.
