President Barack Obama’s much-maligned holiday vacation turned into an even bigger PR nightmare today as it emerged that he and his wife took separate government jets to Martha’s Vineyard just hours apart.
Michelle Obama was revealed to have arrived at the Massachusetts retreat, only 500 miles from Washington, four hours before her husband yesterday.
She was accompanied by their daughters Malia, 13, and Sasha, 10, and landed at around 2pm – four hours earlier than the President.The extra transport to get the the First Lady to the island for only a few more hours of vacation time will have cost taxpayers thousands in additional expenses.The costs related to Mrs Obama’s solo trip mainly include the flight on the specially designed military aircraft she took instead of Air Force One, as well as any extra staff and Secret Service that had to be enlisted to go with her.
She would also have had her own motorcade from the airport to her vacation residence.
The President had already drawn scorn for using two helicopters and Air Force One to get to Martha’s Vineyard.
The President will be staying with his family at the Blue Heron Farm, a sprawling, $50,000-per-week estate with plenty of room for staff and Secret Service agents accompanying him on the trip.
The family are to spend 10 days in a rented compound.
The President arrived on this wealthy Massachusetts island retreat as the stock market plunged and a new poll showed just 11 per cent of Americans are happy with the way things are in the country.
Is he tone deaf to the American people or just doesn’t really care? What’s next? Michelle saying let them eat cake?

But I don’t know how to get it published.
Like I have:
1. My pastor is the official spokesperson for the 700 club, so he the host for a show that has about 10 – 20 million viewers each day but I have a distant relationship with him because I am not a very strong Christian.
2. I have an uncle who does acupuncture and 3 of his regular clients are billionaires. He is also affiliated with a very well known basketball player… but my uncle doesn’t trust me.
3. I have a cousin in China who makes 100 000 dollars a day hosting talks on the psychological benefits of Bhuddism… and if I want, I can get her to translate my books into chinese since Chinese has 2 billion people right now… However, in China, a lot of people plagiarize and sell books on the black market without giving any credit to the authors.
4. I have an aunt who owns a law firm in China, that employs 25 lawyers, and she does big cases like famous murder trials and things like that… but she is probably way too busy to help me patent this book idea
5. My ex-best friend’s ex-boyfriend’s cousin is a billionaire but her ex-boyfriend has very little confidence in me and my ex-best friend won’t help me unless I give her something in return
6. My long term friend from kindergarten does motivational speeches for a living but I’ve lost his contact information and I don’t think my father will give it to me because he hates me. However, he makes about 100 000 dollars a week.
7. I have a cousin who goes to wharton business school. She has a mastor’s from there and has about 200 friends from the University of Pennsylvania and more specifically from Wharton and Wall street, and even though she doesn’t like me very much, she has faith in my writing ability and might help me if she thinks the book will sell, because then I can make her look good, and she can brag about me to her friends.
8. I know a couple of rich guys who make about 500 – 600 000 a year and might be able to convince them to pay for the publication of my book, but these guys are extremely popular with about 60 – 80 people chasing after them and wanting to be their “Friend.”
Those are all the connections I think I can pull at the moment, unless I know some others that are currently not aware of me…
I could try to publicize on my own without using the connections I’ve been given and that’s the route I want to take and plan on taking… I don’t know what to do.

I’m going to UNF here in Florida, they aren’t that great of a school when it comes to business and public relations, they tend to focus more on health related majors. I’m taking basic classes right now and I haven’t chosen my major, but I do know that I’d like something that has to do with business, advertising, or marketing.
I have plans to transfer to University of Central Florida as they are overall a better school for my niche and also it’s not here at home, so I’ll have a chance to have a real college experience as opposed to living at home and driving to a school I don’t care much about.
That aside, if I were to pursue a B.S. in Advertising / PR what can you realistically do and what kind of income can you expect with such a degree? I’m sure that the ranges vary, but I would like a general idea. I believe that I am a very creative person, especially aesthetically and textually, but I do not want an arts degree or graphic design degree. I would like to make a bit over $85,000 a year in hopefully 10-15 years out in the field. However, I’d be lying to say that I wouldn’t like to make more.
If I were to follow the advertising / marketing route, what are some potentially high salary jobs that also allow a bit of creativity?

I am moving to Portland in January 2012 but I am going to visit this coming week to check out how I like it. I would love any info any one has about Portland: work, where to live, where to find places to live, bookshops, farmers markets, parks, transportation, neighborhoods, downtown, places to hangout, best kept local secrets, best places to eat, etc. Anything you can tell me will be helpful. I have done some research in books, but I am looking for something beyond the tourist guides. I want to experience the local culture.
I am going to be attending PSU in a graduate book publishing program in the winter semester.

As opposed to other religions that are not labeled as political ideologies but merely faiths, yet have more politicians in the Congress affiliated with them.

I’m always different from everyone I spend time with. If I’m in a group of people, 90% of the time if they want to do something, I want to do something else. The only time my needs/wants are served is if someone else wants to do that too or if they don’t mind that particular time. My needs/wants are greatly under-served, and that builds resentment in me. I try to be selfless, but I’m human, and eventually what I want shows itself, and people leave. For instance, when I was 4-years-old, I loved jazz music. When other 4-year-olds where watching Barney, I was listening to jazz.
I’ve always had the struggle: be true to myself and be alone OR pretend to like this or that and have temporary company until they discover the truth. It just feels really false and fulfilling. I always feel lonely when I’m surrounded by “friends”.
I’m in my mid-twenties now, and making friends is harder than ever. I don’t have a “niche”. There may be like-minded people somewhere out there, but there aren’t many of them. I’m so lonely.
Help?
