Will Nhl Fans Come Back?

Word is just coming out that the NHL is canceling more games. If the NHL decides to cancel the entire season, that’s the second time in less than a decade the fans get screwed. Will you be back? I guess I’m addressing Canada since we have other things to do here in the US and hockey is a niche sport at best here.

Case: Bridget Blair – Linden Leaves?

She had no business plan but 10 years later she is one of NEW ZEALAND’s most successful entrepreneurs. when Brigit Blair set up Linden Leaves 1- years ago, she broke the golden rule by setting up without a business plan. ‘ A five-year plan?’ she laughs. ‘ we didn’t have a five-week plan.
a decade later, Linden Leaves’ range of New Zealand-made body care products are sold from Auckland to London and many points in between, Christchurch-based Mrs. Blair, 54, is well on the way to becoming a government business adviser’s pin-up, the sort of entrepreneur the government’s job ministry loves to champion.
‘I launched without really knowing what i was getting into and without a business plan. i did everything wrong. For four years I exported only to Korea and Japan – probably the most difficult markets in the world. if i had really thought about it, i probably would never have taken the first step. Passion a good deal of hard work go a long way i guess.
source: dave king, ‘ getting it right by doing it wrong’, the dominion post (wellington), 1 July 2004.
1. Based on Brigit’s experience, would you still recommend a business plan or would just wing it?
2. What were secrets of her success without a business plan?

How To Ask Out A Woman Who Might Think You’re A Stalker?

I met a young woman nearly a decade ago when we first started college. I failed to have the confidence to approach her and upon the day in which I did, she dropped the course. Eventually, I found her on MySpace.
I admitted having had feelings for her and told her that i wished to give her a wooden watch I had crafted but only wanted to be friends. I probably terrified her and she rejected me saying that she was “having problems with the male race”.
As a relatively private introvert, I did not take it well and made some drastic changes the following years. I ended up finishing school in another state hoping to greet social change. It was indifferent. After school, I did it again and went to Japan. I worked for a Global 500 chemical company for 2 years there before finding my niche in derivatives, international stocks, and forex. I returned to the states a year ago and my social life still does not existent.
I have tried dating. Coworkers and long time acquaintances have introduced me to friends and family and they have never worked. Every time, I only thought of her.
I do not know why I admire her so much. Perhaps she is just so smart and conscientious that I cannot let go. Or perhaps, what the shrink says is true and my inability to let go and fail has become a detriment to my mind.
I have a wedding to attend in winter. I’ll be lending my GT2 to my older brother. He tells me if I really cannot give up, try one last time since time has passed and can be a change to mentality.
I am afraid of instilling the fear I may have once brought upon her and if she realizes availability of resources and expenses, I do not see a reason why she could not conclude to it. So, I am curious if you fine chaps happen to have any ideas of how I can approach her without seeming like an infatuated stalker.
Why am I insistent that she may be afraid? I also made the idiotic move of contacting her friends 9 years ago.
I expect some insults and jokes. That is fine as well.

Do You Think America Is Getting Less Religious?

I don’t think America is becoming more religious. As a college student who knows many people across this country at institutions of higher education, most of them don’t believe in a god. As these younger generations grow up and make it into political office, religion will decline in civilized areas even more. I guarantee I’ll see the first president of this country who puts agnostic (or hopefully atheist) as their religious belief rather than Christian.
According to a 2007 Pew poll, the number of “non-affiliated” Americans was 16.1%, up from 8% just one decade before. This number is nearly 25% in the under 25 age group. And 55% of those who self-identify as “atheists” are under 35. So yes, the trend is that America is getting less religious and more and more young people in particular are turning away from religion.

Question Pertaining To Alcohol And Drug Use…?

My two closest friends, the ones I’ve stuck with for at least a decade, drink alcohol and smoke marijuana habitually. I used to do the same but have significantly eased up on alcohol consumption and completely nixed marijuana from my system. I plan on dropping everything, meaning no alcohol and no tobacco whatsoever. I am concerned that, in a way, our vices are what keeps our friendship intact.
We’ll go to museums, sporting events, concerts, various activities and the day inevitably ends with the question “So, what are we going to do tonight?” which usually means a 1.75 liter bottle of whiskey or vodka and an eighth of marijuana. I am unsure how to break it to them, if I even should. I am certain that if they’re truly my friends they will understand but these were the bonds that formed our friendship in the very beginning, even dwindling our little crew from over ten loosely affiliated drunks and druggies to the three we are now.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
