What Are The Legal Basis For This Action?

Since an electric car is becoming a new trend in the automobile market as an environment friendly vehicle. Tesla invested on creating electric vehicles. Tesla hires Fisker for design work on its second model. Fisker submits the design and is paid. Fisker starts its own electric company. Tesla sues Fisker for submitting a substandard design and for stealing trade secrets. Is here a legal basis for the action of Tesla? Justify your answer. What are the responsibilities of Fisker toward Tesla?

    Yes, if you work for someone, then all designs and ideas are the property of your employer. Otherwise, what are they paying you for? Like what does an engineer get paid for if he owns his own designs?
    Therefore, creating your own company using the same ideas is clearly theft of intellectual property.

    The Fisker is not an electric car, it’s a hybrid similar to the Prius or Volt. The Tesla is an electric car. There is really very little in common between the two.
    The way the question is worded, makes it sound like a homework question. You’re supposed to do your own research, not cheat by asking on Answers.
