i just realized today, that I don’t know who I am. I don’t know what I want. I got my college degree, now what? Settle down, cut out a niche of mediocrity for myself and just exist? I feel like I am meant to do something, but I don’t know what it is. I look at all these people with their cars, and iphones and I feel sad that people think that these toys are what happiness is. This bullshit materialism controls almost everyone, we trap ourselves with all these possessions, its like we are digging our own graves. Is this what life is? Just hoarding as much **** as possible? For what, we still all rot in the ground in the end, kings and beggars.

You are absolutely correct. God says in the Bible that the secret to finding life is first to lose it by living for him and loving other people.

You must walk away from all that the world says is important like titles, class, money, stuff. Sounds like you have just opened your eyes and are willing to do that.
Next, Matthew 20:26-28 instructs us that “whoever wants to become great among you must be a servant, just as the Son of Man (Jesus) did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
If you want true happiness and fulfillment you live to serve others. Find out where your heart is, where your compassion is. Kids? homeless? sick and dying? single moms? abuse victims? teaching?

All the time you invest in others will not be wasted or meaningless…this is the way to true freedom, joy and peace. Ask God into your heart and mind and to show you more.
It sounds like you have self actualized, you have arrived at the point you had always aspired to; having reached it, you are perplexed, but no need for despondency. Simply establish another set of goals to conquest by relying upon all of the skills you garnered in college. Mediocrity is not your ken or you would have never gone to college or never completed it. I believe that, when we reach what has up until now seemed an insurmountable summit, we can see that this summit has obscured the summit which lay beyond. Continue to establish goals and to be goal oriented. You’ll be fine.
