I Accidentally Got My Mormon Friend Expelled From Byu. How Is That My Fault?

I’m personally not affiliated with the LDS church or BYU but I had sex with one of my lady-friends on campus, and we got walked in on by an academic and now she’s expelled with half a year left on her degree. It’s been a month and she still won’t talk to me. How is this my fault? She’s the one at such a silly university.

She broke a very sacred covenant with the lord. Not to have sex before marriage.
If shes the one you had sex with.

I believe the LDS and BYU have a strict policy against premarital sex.
Maybe she won’t talk to you because she’s in a period of repristination wherein she is seeking forgiveness for her sins.
Part of penance is for the penitent to discard the sin, which means abandoning whatever bad “habit” she had that lead to sin, which is … you.
So I am guessing she simply dumped you and did a quick fade to save her butt and try and get a chance at finishing her last semester.

If you don’t think its your fault, then why did you phrase your question in such a way that you do believe its your fault?
And you waited a month to tell us this? I’m starting to think it is your fault now. Not just partly hers.

If you actually cared for the girl, you would have learned enough about her and her life to know that pre-marital sex was well below an ideal to which she aspired and against a rule to which she was subject as part of being in the university. As it is, you effectively helped her fall short of her aspirations and get her kicked out of a school she worked hard to get into. It’s time to hit the road, Jack.
