I’m applying to a catholic college because other than the whole religious thing (I’m not religiously affiliated other than I consider myself Buddhist) I love every part of the school! What if my roommate hates me because I’m gay? I know that not all religious people hate gays but what if she does? Should it be expected to have a bigot as a roommate going into this school?
if anything you should educate them 😉
If someone hates you because you are lesbian it is their problem.
If she hates you ask to get your own dorm room or ask to switch to a new one.
The Bible doesn’t really talk about female homosexuality so they have no reason to hate you.
Don’t tell your roommate you are lesbian at first. First let her get to know you and then tell her, because then she will most likely accept you for you and see that you aren’t a bad person (: and after that if she doesn’t want to talk to you then…. that’s her problem.
well she MIGHT not agree with your “gay lifestyle” as they call it, but even if she doesn’t agree with homosexuality, she probably isn’t going to bully you over it or anything.
For one thing — Why would you Need to tell Anyone you’re gay / lesbian. It sounds a bit counter-productive to a good relationship with your roommate. Unless you’re one of those ‘in your face’ gays / lesbians. Why not just be a studious college student and leave any ‘attitude’ in your suitcase or at home.
I doubt that you’ll butt heads, but if it turns out that she’s a total b**** because you’re a lesbian, get another roommate. Simple as that.
