I like to create my own music but I also want to start businesses outside of music too.
Basically, I want to create multiple businesses under the same roof but in different fields?
I have more general ideas of the sort of business I am looking for but what do people actually need, want? What types of business could I start?

It’s best to diversify in the same niche if possible.
This enables you to cross-promote your “different” businesses within the niche and leverage the mailing list you will be building (if you’re a smart marketer)
You should also stick to areas that you are passionate about and where you are most knowledgeable – so you can establish yourself as an authority and build your credibility (and sales)
An example if you like to create music….
Create and sell stock music/sound fx in media marketplaces (like Envato’s audiojungle.net)
Teach others to create music via Skype
Create a digital product on how-to-create modern tracks using whatever tools you know (eBook or video)
Offer service to do music/sfx for video productions (growing Market)
etc.
My opinion is that if you have multiple ideas in different fields, it’s best to setup different business entities (Corp or LLC) for each, so they can be sold or easily shut down if the idea doesn’t pan out.
It’s also easier to bring in investors and offer equity for one business idea without diluting your others because it’s not co-mingled with a bunch of unrelated businesses.

I wonder if Branson, Sugar, Dyson and the like asked strangers what sort of business to start. No, they saw a niche in a market and went for it with hard work and determination.
If people here had business ideas, don’t you think they would be pursuing them themselves rather than helping you?
Look around you, find out what people need but can’t easily get.
