What’s Your Opinion On Windows 8?

I’ve seen some reviews on it. I like the looks of it. I have Windows XP at the moment, I’m going to uprgade before April 2014. So Should I get Windows 7 Or Windows 8? Which one is better? Thanks in advance 🙂

I’ve been using it since it was released and I like it. It does change how you use your computer which not everyone can appreciate but it does have it’s advantages.
Windows 8 boots up super fast compared to previous versions of Windows. It has built in support for USB 3.0 and hard drives larger than 2.2 TB plus it’s the first version to come with a full anti-virus program as part of the OS.
The start screen is the big feature this time around and has a number of features that improve over the old start menu. First, it scales to your screen size. The start screen runs full screen and the larger the screen you have the more tiles you can put on a single page. No matter how larger your screen is on Windows 7, the maximum number of items on the all programs list of the start menu before you have to scroll is 20. For comparison, I have a 1920 x 1080 resolution monitor and I have nearly 40 tiles on one page of the start screen.
Windows 8 has an all program list but you’re not really going to use it much. If you want something you just search for it. Since you’ve been using XP you’ve missed out on one of the best new features added to Windows. Starting with Vista, Microsoft added a search box to the start menu. All you have to do is type the name of the program, setting, or file you want and Windows will fetch it for you, just like a web search. But, again, due to the small size of the start menu the results list was tiny. In Windows 8 you get a full screen of results when you search making it the number one way to find anything on your computer.
So there’s a lot of nice new stuff in Windows 8 but, again, you’ll have to adapt to some new things and it could take a little while.
Even if you don’t like the whole start screen idea, you can always install a free start menu. There are tons to choose from.http://forum.notebookreview.com/windows-…

I have XP and will uipgrade to windows 7. Windows 8 sucks! It takes several steps to get to do exactly
the same thing as other windows. Windows 7 doesn’t have a start button and search or run like vista also.
The xp was probably the best functional start menu made. I always liked xp classic start menu for easy access. If you get windows 7 , You have to get premium to get xp mode. However some have used a free one time upgrade from windows home through a you tube fix video.
Window 8 looks like a cell phone without a desk top, go with 7 and now the Good News
There is a free program that converts 7 and 8 to the classic 98 XP start menu.
    It is called Classic Shellhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0L4Cte5…
