How Does The Bible Conflict With Evolution?

I’ve been seeing alot of forums lately dealing with this subject and as a non affiliated believer in God I am extremely confused. How can Christians say there is no proof for evolution (carbon dating of dinosaur bones, and rocks to see how old earth is) yet, there is no proof on how old the bible is….oh wait there is! CARBON DATING!!! You cannot say the bible is how ever so old by one standard, yet not let something else be true by the SAME standard. Then there is the whole big bang theory, did God not create the world in 7 days? So everything came together in 7days, how does this not correlate to the big bang theory, everything came together in 7 days. Then where besides the bible is there proof about souls, god himself, jesus…… I don’t understand the argument of ‘Oh well there’s no proof of that.’ when there’s no proof of god either -_-. I believe in both science and God, and science makes God so much more amazing. realizing all God put into this earth, how complicated it it, how atoms work and everything else makes God that much more stronger in my eyes. Not believing in evolution is only going to make your life harder, why not see it for what it is, Gods amazing creation? In my mind you CAN believe in God and science, please stop spreading this notion that you can’t do both around.

  1. Annouska Орлова says:

Evolution = Life’s existence is the product of mutation through natures trial and error.
Creationism = God designed everything himself ’cause he’s just so fvcking mageecuul!

  2. Sam Stephens says:

Notice the fallacy. Halfway through, you replaced “evolution” with “science.” The two are connected, but not synonymous.
You don’t seem to have a very good grasp on the Big Bang, or on carbon dating.
I agree that science lets us see how amazing and big God is. I’m studying engineering, which makes application of science to better mankind. (Sorry, Bill Nye..) So that part of your argument (where you insist that I, as a young earth creationist, don’t believe in science) falls apart.

Basically Creationism and evolutionism begin from two radically different points. Creation: In the beginning there was God. Evolution: In the beginning there was random chance. Darwinian doctrine insists that the evolution of life is a random process that we are here by a series of pure accidents . The Bible teaches that man was created for a special purpose. . The Bible says that man was created as a special being in the image of God, as opposed to the evolutionary view that has man is just another animal in the evolutionary process . The Bible teaches that God created man by fiat, that is, by supernatural power, not by natural processes . Evolution is a philosophy based on naturalism and materialism.

Many religions have creationists. What creationists really do is not about believing in god. It is about the worship of scripture they long for intractably immobile answers. they are a group of people who have no tolerance for ambiguity and nuance and desire more than anything to have fixed, black and white conclusions. They are mentally ill.

  5. Dirk Potters says:

It is right there in Genesis Chapter 1
Plain as day, no interpretation needed. Either God created the heavens and the earth as stated, or God did not.
    One needs only to choose:
    1) Choose to believe in God and Jesus and accept the Bible as the authority
    2) Choose not to believe in God and reject the Bible as the authority
There is no “in-between”, there are no gray areas. It is cut and dry.
Therefore, there are two types of anti-Christians here on YA.
    1) Those that want to replace the creation of God with evolution
    2) Those that want to prove the Bible is false and eradicate all moral authority
That is what it is all about, that is what has always been all about.

  6. godless says:

A scientific theory is a unifying concept that explains a large body of data. It is a hypothesis that has withstood the test of time and the challenge of opposing views. The Big Bang Theory and the Theory of Evolution are supported by extensive data. There is no reliable data supporting the some-god-did-it hypothesis, and especially not the Yahweh-did-it hypothesis.
What you believe is called “Theistic Evolution.” You believe in a god and still accept science and its conclusions. Science allows a god that is a hidden, undetectable agent in evolution and the universe. However the idea fails theistically for Yahweh, because your god would be responsible for the losses intrinsic to evolution — such as the fact that 99.9% of species have died out. It also fails morally, because your god would be responsible for the pain that humans and other animals have resulting from vagaries of living. These are not good records for an omniscient, omnipotent, omnibenevolent being.

  7. Ricardo says:

There is no conflict between god or the bible and evolution, there is a conflict with the psychotic biblical followers and evolution.
