Ladies, Is It A Big Deal If A Guy Shows More Interest Another Woman’s Job?

I just went to a class reunion and met the wife of one of my buddy’s. She’s a comic book writer for Marvel. My excitement was impossible to hide as I love comics, and I was tired of all the marketing, networking, management, accounting, etc. conversations I had been having with everyone else throughout the night. My wife was upset that I never showed that much enthusiasm when she talks about her job. But she’s an insurance adjuster and it’s not the same. On top of that, it’s not as if I were hitting on my buddy’s wife. It was just cool to talk to someone who knew about Secret Wars, the House of M, etc. Was I out of line?

Spouses jobs are boring and it doesn’t matter if they’re brain surgeons or nuclear physicists with their hands on the CERN accelerator. Once they come in from work its ‘blah blah blah blah’ yeah ah-huh ah-huh i’ll put the kettle on shall I? My wife has two degrees and still bores the crap out of me with her work, a trained artist and teacher now doing accountancy losing a decimal point ‘did you find it? 20 minute long explanation of how she found the lost decimal point. ‘did you not check inside your ears first?’

Well if you showed this woman more attention than your wife. I agree that your wife’s job is less intriguing than being a comic book writer yes, however…………If you spent too much time talking about her job infront of your wife is a bad thing. I recommend sending your wife flowers with an apology note and ask for forgiveness even though it wasn’t meant in a bad way-the conversation with this woman. You hurt your wife’s feelings and it is your job to fix it. Are you dialing 1-800 flowers yet?
