Are Teenagers Rebellious Or Awkward?

i told my brother that teens were awkward, they were trying to find themselves in life and figuring out their niche.
he told me they were just rebellious.
i said perhaps, but then he insulted me and said i was the only one who was awkward. he went on to insult me in many more ways.
i told him that teens were also awkward, and he said no. they were only rebellious.
are teens rebellious, awkward, or both? how so?
what should i have said to my sociopathic brother?

..You really argue about this stuff?
    Wow, I’m awkward and rebellious.

    Both.

You don’t think things through too deeply if you make such sweeping generalizations.
Edit: You got me there, well played.

  4. ∂σηт cяу уσυя нєαят συт ♥ says:

    Both.
Awkward because you are trying to figure yourself out.
Rebellious because you try new things to see who you are and also because other people tell you to do something.

  5. Vanessa♥ says:

Little of both to be honest.

  6. Enigma says:

Some are one or the other, some are both, some are neither

  7. Insane in the membrane says:

    I’m both.

  8. Shamaria says:

Honestly?? Coming from a 15 year old girl, both.

  9. withlove says:

I would say I’m more awkward then rebellious. But I am rebellious. I’m a teen and teens are both 🙂

  10. Raandoom says:

Well it’s a big generalisation you made so you can’t say teens ARE something because not all of them will be.

  11. Brandon's A Daydreamer says:

Both. Some teens are awkward because they are trying to figure out how to fit in with society while other teens are rebellious in that they don’t want to be what society tells them to be in some areas at least. It’s a really interesting comparison.
You should’ve told your brother that they can be both.
