What Band Comes To Mind When You Hear These Words?

1. Open mindedness
2. Perseverance
3. Smart
Attach a band, or bands if you can think of more than one, to each of these words and why you think the word perfectly describes them.
For me:
1. The Beatles – They certainly represented it.
2. Rush – Never changed members since Neil Peart joined. Even after Peart’s personal tragedies and they’re still going strong now.
3. AC/DC – They found a niche and ran with it and became so successful, Back In Black is second only to MJ’s Thriller in America.

    1. Rush. Changed their style alot
    2. Death. I have a stupid reason. It reminds me of their album “Sound of Perseverance”
    3. Weezer. Always made me think of the nerdy kind of smart

open mindedness – frank zappa, he was certainly all over the place musically. it wouldn’t stand to reason that he would be closed minded to me.
perseverance – the grateful dead, it took them 25 years to get a top 40 hit, and it peaked at #9, it took them 29 years to get a multi million selling album, and that didn’t happen until 20 years after it’s release. they went largely by word of mouth for 30 years.
smart – led zeppelin knew when to hang it up. it takes a fair amount of smarts to know when to do so, drummer dying or not. besides, there is nothing worse than 60 year old guys trying to be 20 on the stage, and it’s good to see the remaining members not trying to be 20 or becoming an oldies act.

    1. Nirvana – Kurt Cobain was big on supporting gays, woman’s rights, and the right to choose. He was obviously opened minded and the band performed quite a few songs about these ideas.
    2. Lady Gaga – As much as I can’t stand her, she came to mind. She always talks about how she would struggle to get her career going and she would sing in bars to just make it.
    3. Red Hot Chili Peppers – They have been around for so long and are still making amazing hits. They must be smart to stay in the game this long.

    1. between the buried and me. anyone that has heard them will agree.
    2. norma jean… they change their sound with time and each time they come out with something awesome.
    3. as black runs black… that current band doesnt have one original member but they kept the name to sell their album.

  5. Andrew Ripley says:

    1. Radiohead- They changed genres and sounds a ton.
    2. Red Hot Chili Peppers- They’ve dealt with the loss of a bunch of members including their lead guitarist John Frusciante twice, but they’ve still put out great albums.
    3. Weezer- Rivers Cuomo (lead singer) went to Harvard, then UCLA

  6. Niko Bane says:

    1. Beatles
    2. Motorhead
    3. Venom. They weren’t the best musicians, and couldn’t compete with bands like Iron Maiden. So, they just pulled a stunt and made themselves famous. And plus, they are a bit good just not the best.
    WELCOME TO HELL
