How it works the NFL? I just know it’s a franchise system, but how does that work?
For example, there is no football teams NFL teams or NCAA? If so, how do these teams to affiliate to the NFL?
thanks again

The NFL is a technically a “trade association” of 32 individual ownerships. The 32 teams are called franchises and operated by the owners and general managers. But the league operation is governed by a set of bylaws that all 32 ownerships agree to. These bylaws are what creates the trade association.
See the bylaws from the source below.
The owners hire a commissioner to run the day to day business of the NFL. He only has the powers granted to him by the owners. Things like rule changes, team relocations, union negotiations, player drafts, etc, require a majority vote of the 32 owners.
To operate as a league, the NFL must have an agreement with the NFLPA… or NFL players association union. The agreement is called a collective bargaining agreement.. or CBA. Currently there is not a CBA in place and that has created a work stoppage and could possibly cancel some 2011 season games.
The NCAA is the governing body for most college football. The NCAA does not have an affiliation with the NFL. College football players are amateurs, they don’t get paid. They have to be students in good standing at their college to play football for them.
But as you’ve probably noticed, college football is similar to a minor league for the NFL. The NCAA limits players to 4 years of eligibility and the next logical step for the better players is to turn professional and sign an NFL contract.

The NFL drafts players from the NCAA (Collegiate level) in opposite order of how they finished the previous season. The worst team drafts first then the second worst and so on. There are seven rounds of this. The NCAA is not aloud to pay its players. The college players must complete 3 years of school before being eligible for the NFL draft. Each team has an owner which controls the highering and firing of the managers and coaches. He oversees who runs the franchise but overall the duties are the responsibility of the General Manager. The General Manager decides with the coaches who to draft or sign from free agency or to make trades with other teams. Free Agency is players that are not on a team (either because the team cut them from their roster or the players did not wish to sign a contract with the team). This is the general gist of running NFL franchises/movement of players from team to team.
