I Don’t Have Any Friends :-(?

I live in Long Island and work in Manhattan. I am originally from Indiana… I really don’t have any friends and it’s sad 🙁 I’m 25… I just started a relationship with a new guy who is still living in the town he was born and raised in..he has about a billion friends. I’m embarassed for him to see I dont have any. I even have a hard time making friends in my new office where I’ve been for 4 months….I feel i don’t fit in. Maybe bc I’m from the midwest and here I am amongst all these Manhattanites and Long Island girls and I just can’t find my social niche.

I was just watching that Bravo show with “Bethenny Happily After” you know the girl who was apart of the NY housewives.
She went to visit her husbands family in the suburbs and was kind of snotty towards his hometown people.
Have you thought about volunteering in your community. Hopefully you will meet some real genuine people out there in the community. People who give their time to help others in their community are less selfish. Good way to meet people without the social norms of your area.

I have found that if you have to try, it isn’t worth it.
Be yourself and project confidence. If ppl trash you for being a small-town girl say, “I’m from Indiana and??” What I mean is that you can’t give off that awkward vibe because ppl sense it.
I know that I would rather have 1 good friend than 40 fake ones. Friendship is about quality, not quantity. I moved to a new town, too and have no one. But I’m not letting that stop me from doing stuff sola. I go get my hair done, I go eat, I work out, and get movies. And I have fun. If you enjoy life and love yourself, it will be worth it both internally and socially.
If the bf doesn’t love you for EVERYTHING about you, ummmm “NEXT”.
It’s NY, there are hotties all around.
