    Sorry, but I don’t think A is correct because that’s a mutation…. (I think the person was talking about the physics definition of radiation, not the biology one)
    Anyways, adaptive radiation is when one group evolves into many different species as they adapt to many different niches. This happens when the environment has many under-utilized resources or when a group evolves a novel trait.
    So, the answer is D.
