Canon Sx10is Vs. Canon Rebel Xt: Tips And Tricks?

I have a Canon sx10is. I’m familiar with the basic options but haven’t gotten into anything too specific. I have a niche for photography and am looking to learn more tricks and tips specifically with this camera. After looking at work from others using the Canon Rebel XT and was considering selling mine and purchasing the XT. Any suggestions?

First moving from a P&S to a dSLR is a great move.
    Here is why
    * the sensors on dSLR’s are nearly 15 times larger, thus will produce higher resolution images
    * the ability to use interchangeable lenses from super wide angle to extreme telephoto, including specialty lenses like macro, perspective control and fisheyes add dSLR versatility
The Rebel XT is no longer made. You may want to look at the current Canon 450D/XSi

It would help to know what you mean by being familiar with “basic options”. Do you routinely use it in Av and M mode (aperture priority and manual)? If not, then that’d be a good next step.
Once you run into the limitations of your camera and you can specifically identify why a DSLR would be better there, then it’s a good time to upgrade.
