Nanowrimo Prize Question?

For starters, I’m a first year NaNovelist, so I’m not that familiar with it’s inner workings.
The site is completely swamped right now and I can’t even get it to load on my computer, so I’m asking my question here in hopes that someone affiliated with the site will see it. Anyway, I read on a blog somewhere that in the past they gave whoever won NaNoWriMo a free copy of their book. Anyone know if they’re still doing that?
Also, are people participating allowed to post what they’ve written online anywhere? Or is it required that the whole novel be finished before released to the public?
If anyone could answer it would be greatly appreciated, and whoever is taking part this year I wish you all the luck in the world!
Cheers!

All you get is an online badge saying you won, a certificate that you can print, and “bragging rights” 😉
And you can post it anywhere online. It doesn’t matter, I wouldn’t think, at all.
    You, good luck!

Yes! THat’s the CreateSpace offer. CreateSpace is a self-publisher, but you’re not really publishing if you use the code NaNoWriMo gives out to winners. The code allows you to get onto CreateSpace to get a proof copy of your book — that’s a paperback, PRINTED book. Which… kind of rocks. And yeah, the site is hell right now, but I managed to log on long enough to see they were doing it again this year.
Sure, NaNoWriMo doesn’t own your novel. They don’t even READ your novel. So yeah, post it online, show it to your friends, your elementary school teacher, your great-aunt’s dog, whoever. Finish it or just write 10,000 and let it go stale… It’s your choice! But I hope you’ll get to 50k!
    Good luck and have fun!

All you get is self satisfaction, a print-able certificate, and bragging rights.
