How Do I Increase Exposure On Deviant Art?

I am just wondering, because I know there must be some sort of self-marketing trick to it. Some “not-so-good” artists have millions of page views, and some phenomenal artists have virtually none, so I know that it must be at least PARTIALLY unrelated to quality.
I am an artist who began submitting my work on the site about three months ago, and I have hardly any page views at all.
I am not asking that people LIKE my work, only that they have the opportunity to actually see it and give me some feedback.
If there are any secret tips that have eluded me, could someone please share?
thank you!

Put your gallery link in your signature (along with something witty or something that shows your character), add people to your faves + watchlist, comment, join and submit to groups.
Make sure your comments aren’t things like “so cute!!!!!” Something with a bit of critique but still praising is best. Then they almost always reply and a lot of times look at your page.

•Favourite EVERYTHING you see on Newest. People will come to your page to thank you.
•You honestly don’t have to be a great artist to get pageviews. Just look at Broken-Teapot. If your drawings are humorous people will comment and fave more. I did a bunch of quick funny looking doodles and I got more comments and faves than something I took a long time to make.
•Cause some serious drama. People will flock to your page to see what’s going on.
