The European Empire is controlled by Germans.They have exploited poorer countries for their wealth the same as mercantilism or imperialism.Now they are negotiating free trade area with the US. As it has been found that the TPP negotiation process has not been transparent.It will be a big chance for them to grab the US market and destroy our industries.We can stop all of these.Just not buy anything from them.What do you think? If so, the chance that European exporters will “destroy” US industry just because they’re relieved of tariffs on imports is zero. Instead free trade may allow them to gain a bit of sales in some niches (though I’m hard pressed to think of what), and lose a bit of sales in certain other niches. Most things Americans buy are not importable, after all.
And Europe seems to be preoccupied these days with trying not to collapse in on itself.
No, we should not. I’d rather drive German cars than Detroit ones. Or whatever cars you drive in Thailand (Chinese, perhaps?)

I thought the English and the Spanish historically exploited the countries that are now considered poor today.
