Tips On Joining A Forward Surgical Team & Attending The Uniformed Services University In Bethesda, Maryland?

I am currently a biomedical engineering major at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and I intend on attending the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Maryland to become a surgeon in the military. I’ve talked to a few retired military doctors; however, most of them retired when the FST teams were first being created in the 90s. If anyone affiliated with USU or a Forward Surgical Team (preferably airborne or Navy) can give me any insight on the university or their team, it’d be greatly appreciated.

Should I Quit Swim Team?

Here’s the deal:
I started swimming about 4 years ago for a local YMCA team. Not very competitive, but I swam for about a year. I decided I didn’t like competing and quit.
Two years later, in 7th grade, I joined a water polo team. It was really fun, and I considered going back to swim team too. I haven’t gone back to water polo since I changed schools and haven’t been able to find a good team yet– but that’s a whole other story.
Ahemmmm… Anyways, in July 2011, I went back to swim team, this time on a more advanced, competitive swim team. However, I only actually participated in one real meet. I only joined to get in my PE credit. In April of 2012, I quit yet again.
In August 2012, I rejoined, because I really didn’t want to do volleyball, and I had to get in PE time somehow. Now it’s January 2013 and I really want to quit swim team for good once I get in the necessary PE hours. I’m thinking I’d quit in April or May.
See, here’s the thing. I know the story I’ve told above makes me out to be a quitter– Usually, I’m not. I’ve never quit on academics, or music, or anything. However, I’m really NOT an athletic person, and I’ve struggled to find my niche there. I thought I had finally found a talent in swimming (I’m fairly good) but I just keep going back and forth and I need closure.
The thing is, I love the reward you get for being a great swimmer, but I’m not so sure I’m willing to put in the time and commitment it demands. I’m more worried about just keeping healthy than anything else.
I know I need to stick it out at least until April. But… Should I quit? I took a break during December, and I really enjoyed not being on the team. Whenever it’s time for swim team, I get cranky and I wish that I would get sick or break my leg on accident– anything to get out of swim team. Honestly, I can’t remember myself ever TRULY loving swim team. But I feel like my parents would be disappointed in me for quitting. I already had a small talk about it with my mom and she’s been trying to keep me from quitting. She really wants me to swim since she was on a high school swim team a long time ago but has ear problems and can’t swim now. She wants me to swim since she couldn’t. I’m really not sure what she’s thinking and I have no idea what the outcome will be if I do quit.
What should I do?

May I Like Scotland And Chelsea ?

I Really Like Chelsea F.C. but I am From The United States and I Don’t Particularly Care for the USA Team,
I am a Mix of Many Different Cultures However and for the Most Part I Have a Large Scotish & German-Italian Background. I Even Have a Scottish Last Name.
So,…If I Had to Pick Based on That, I Would Say I Should Like Scotland
However, Is it Ok to Like a National Team other Than Your Home Country Especially Since Your Not From Scotland #1 and Is it Ok to Like Chelsea F.C. and Scotland ?
Can I Also Like The National Teams of my other Ethnicities ?

Recent Nascar News Opinions.?

*yes my source if Jayski.com, just curious people’s opinions on these matters* Many of the Nascar community is now aware of 2 or at least one major headline, Kevin Harvick leaving RCR for SHR, and BK racing switching one car # to the #23 next season and possibly dropping a driver for Reutimann.
BK racing as far as 2013 goes will keep ONLY a 2 car team keeping sponsorship on both for the full season. They are looking at putting Reutimann in one of the cars, meaning either Landon Cassill or Travis Kvapil are going to be let go. Theyve also decided to get the #23 instead for “dr.peppers’s 23 different flavors”/sponsor obligation. My question is who do you think BK racing will let go, IF they do let a driver go? Landon Cassill or Travis Kvapil? I personally would rather see Kvapil STAY with BK. He has ran better and not torn up as many cars as Landon has.
Now for the Harvick dispute. Harvick has apparently signed a deal to drive a 4th car for SHR in 2014. Honestly I think this is a hokes/joke, Childress was completly caught off guard and was unaware Harvick had done anything. Plus the interview’ies never or have yet to get Harvick’s side on things. Anyway the question is. IF Harvick is leaving RCR who will replace him? Austin Dillon is already set for the #31 or #3 car, Childress would still need another driver to fill Harvick’s shoes. My guess would be he puts Kurt Busch in the car. Why? Kurt is already at a Childress affiliated team, he isn’t a rookie, has won a championship, knows how to make the chase, all Childress needs to do is find a sponsor that will work with Busch,…which will be a very difficult process.
These are just my opinions, all my facts I got from Jayski and online Nascar news sites, Just curious what other people think of these situations.

Junior College Baseball Tryouts?

Hey, Im planning to tryout for the junior college i currently attend next year and was looking for a little insight from someone who’s affiliated or tried out for a JUCO team. First are the tryouts generally basic? running a 60. fielding like 5 balls swinging at ten balls from a coach and then pitchers throwing to catchers ? I mainly play catcher and middle infield though ive played more 2nd then short and i can play outfield or 3rd if needed. I played on a select and all star team before high school but then didnt end up trying out in high school any of my years for multiple reasons outside of my baseball ability and just played rec. For the past couple months now ive started working out almost everyday to get in shape since i never really did in high school and throwing / taking infield and hitting with my dad ( not any ball playing freinds still live here) because I really want to play ball. Also when should i start being in contact with the coach ? i was thinking to send him an email in the next few months to see if i could meet with him or just tell him im planning to tryout? ( id like to wait a little more to be stronger and have lost some weight) .
