Leadership Struggles/troubles In Establishing A Undergraduate Student Organization?

I recently went to a conference to set up a particular human rights organization at my university. It is exactly what I research and a bit of a niche area of study, despite it’s importance. It currently does not exist at my university. However, a girl last February did the same as I, but when she came back she didn’t do anything. She said she passed deadlines to set anything up and couldn’t find support. However the deadlines have been open for sometime now, and I also would have to find support so I think that is ridiculous. So now I am doing these things actively and she is leaving for an internship overseas for 4 months as I launch it. However she expects to have the titles as founder and president of this organization. I’m feeling at a loss as how to deal with her. She is entirely unhelpful and unresponsive to any of my attempts to talk to her or ask her questions. She even asked for my resume through a facebook page she made for this cause when she returned from the conference last term. I did eventually get her to meet with me, though she was 20mins late for our meeting without apology. She seemed to know very little on this subject, and wouldn’t be someone I would pick to help in any scenario. I am not used to petty power struggles and just want to do some good things before I graduate in a year. Does anyone have any advice in dealing with a situation like this? I really would like credit for all the long hours and efforts I will give this organization, and not have this person take credit for all of this while she lives overseas.

What Is My Obligation To A Head Hunter?

I applied for a out of state position. The contact was a independent head hunter, who scheduled my phone interview. I spoke with the employer and felt it was not a good match. She recommended another position they had open in my state. She said she would forward my resume to the HR manager who was handling this position in my state. One of their directors then called me for a phone interview, then a face-to-face. It seems to be a better fit. And looks like I might be offered the job.
Now, this independent is calling me asking me how the interview went and so on. I don’t want to be rude, but I feel he is trying to take a commission from this affiliated company who he did not set up an interview for. I have never sign an agreement with this head hunter. So I’m not sure what is my obligation to him? I’m also considered that he will try to ask for a commission from this company and might effect my compensation negotiations. What should I do?

Should I Talk To My Boss About My Strengths And My Weaknesses?

I am a graduate assistant for the promotions director for the television station that is affiliated with the university I attend. Recently I’ve been unconfident in my ability to perform for my boss. It’s not like my work ethic is poor, but I feel as if I make more mistakes then I should.
I want to improve as quickly as I can in an attempt to have a job request close to when I’m finishing my thesis. Also because her future recommendation is crucial to my resume.
I want to talk to my boss privately and ask what my strengths and weaknesses are and how I may improve, but I’m not sure if that’s proper boss-to-worker etiquette. It seems that asking for help would be proper, but I still see the situation being awkward for some reason.
So my question is do you think it would be proper etiquette to approach my boss about how I may improve?
And if so, how I do I not make it sound like a desperate attempt to gain approval?
Please, I only want answers if you can also recommend as to how to go about the situation, or reasons for why I should not proceed.
Thank you in advance.

Questions About Sweden (mostly About Jobs)?

Hello! I’ve been thinking about moving to Sweden, and have a couple of questions about the lifestyle.
Currently I’m living in the US, enrolled in high school, and wanting to learn Swedish. Here are my questions:
1) Does Sweden have a credit score system?
2) Are marketing/advertising/design jobs hard to get?
(I’m still in high school, but wish to pursue a major in these areas)
3) Also, do I need a couple of years’ experience before I can get that job (in question 2)? What are some good things to add on a resume?
4) Is it a burden/annoyance for businesses to get a work permit for someone they just hired that isn’t from Sweden? (For those of you who have moved… is it hard moving there?)
5) Will businesses be inclined to hire me if I know Swedish? (Also, will my ‘perspective’ help businesses who want to reach out to the US?)
6) Are there some international banks? (That are affiliated/shared with US banks)
Thank you very much for your answers and time! Sorry if my questions are a little awkward. 🙂
