My router model is: WNDR3400, N600 Wireless Dual Band Router.
There are three versions of the WNDR3400. The newest is version 3.
There are a couple of things you can do.

“Live Parental Controls” is on page 26 of the WNDR3400 user manual. Live Parental Controls uses free OpenDNS accounts to set up filtering levels for your home network.
You can also use keyword blocking to prevent certain types of HTTP traffic from accessing your network. It can be found on page 61 of the manual.
You can set up schedule blocking (page 63) to specify the days and time that you want to block Internet access. I used this feature to disable my kid’s Internet access after 10:00 PM when they were younger.
The best way is to have the computer in a open area and interactively monitor and advise your kids on the dangers of the Internet.
