Yo Gotti named himself after John Gotti
Daz Dilinger named himself after John Herbert Dillinger
Scarface named himself after, well Scarface
Nas made a song called “The Don”
Wu-Tang and their affiliates frequently reference La Cosa Nostra in their lyrics.
The list goes on.

Italian mafia. But Scarface want italian

  7. Money says:

I don’t think “African American rappers” try to imitate Italians I think it is an admiration in some way. Mobsters/Mafia leaders had money, power and respect and that is what the rap culture consist of money, power, respect, drugs and sex. I think it’s real simple but I think it’s simpleminded of you to segregate races why would you say African American? Black people are not the only race who raps and show admiration for druglords and gangsters. For example Honey Cocaine an Asian woman showed admiration for Griselda Blanco an Colombian druglord known as The Godmother of Cocaine why? You might wonder, because she held power and she had money like I said before something the hip hop industry glorifies. just like how heavy metal artist glorifies satan and dark spirits. Get it? I hope you do also get some common sense while you’re at it and don’t segregate races. State the game (Rap idustry) not the players (“black” people)

  8. Benito says:

Lotta famous mobsters and gangsters were Italian like Capone
