Help Needed Trying To Set Up A Youth U13 Team?

Help!!! We are currently trying to set up a youth u13 football team, we have a sponsor, boys wanting to play, we have found out cost of pitches and winter training, we have some equipment and a qualified coach and a manager who is also a qualified coach, both have been FA crb checked. Do you have to be affiliated with a club? Does anyone know the rough cost of insurance would be? What other ideas do you have on what we may need to do and find out? Can you name your team whatever you would like as long as there are no other teams in the area with that name?

Your club/team will have to be affiliated to your local FA if you want league status. This is a county thing if you are in England. If London, then its the LYFA – London Youth Football Association. An annual fee is applicable. Do it for a club, not just 1 team, so if you have more teams that covers them all. You can call your team any name. Your sponsors must not be adult stuff like beer, cigarettes or similar. suggestion – get one of the parents to take the refs test, this saves fees and they can do all your home games. Referees are hard to get, some will charge you to cover your matches – thats if you can get one. Best of luck, you are doing a wonderful service to these kids.
