    H. P. Lovecraft’s Dagon [2002] (Although straight-to-video, and only known on the foreign Spanish market this movie has all the chills of an H. P. Lovecraft film, and by far the best adaptation I have ever seen. Stuart Gordan is truly a Legend with these types of movies)
    H. P. Lovecraft’s From Beyond [1987] (Great Special Effects and the most creepiest monster I have ever seen. The first movie to finally get Lovecraft right, even though Dagon was better)
Amusement [2008] (Confusing and twisting, this film will have you guessing and creeping out at every turn. Is it an anthology, is it a dream, or is this all real? Look out for an evil clown in this film. No matter what happens, it is all for his amusement.)
Funny Games [1997/2008] (I chose both original and remake because they were filmed shot per shot by the same director, it is only the actors and language that’s different. This is an absolute nail-biter. It’s not nice, fair, or kind to it’s main characters, and it certainly leaves an impression on you when it ends, but it leaves you questioning whether the characters were being tortured or were you. It is completely bloodless, but it was extremely unnerving)
Mulberry St. [2007] (This film takes a lot of ques from 28 days later, but it centers on a group of apartment denizens fighting for their lives against a murderous plague. The film has an excellent build-up, explodes with the jumps and never lets up, and has great characterization among the neighbors, who are introduced really well. It was one of the After dark Horrorfest films and I consider it one of the best in the collection.)
Castle Freak [1994] (This Early 90’s film was an absolute shocker to the European market and it has been considered a Full Moon Classic. Without giving to much away an Old woman lives in a castle all by herself, but she isn’t alone. She is keeping a strange abnormal creature in her cellar/dungeon, but when she dies a family moves in unaware of the horror that remains. And yes it breaks loose. Look out for Jeffery Combs and Barbara Crampton of Re-animator fame.)
Isolation [2008] (A twisted and creepy creature feature from Ireland. Great creature effects, and a painfully horrifying scene of an abnormal birth of a baby calf, but from there a terrifying chain of events leads to a disturbing truth at the end.)
Society [1990] (An insanly creepy creature feature about how a secret upper class community literally feeds off of the poor. An orgy of crazy special effects, and a twisted sex scene are just two of the most crazy moments of tis film. Not for the faint of heart or stomachs)
Children of the Night [1992] (A creepy vampire flick that goes back to the basic roots of showing us vampires, the way they are meant to be, MONSTERS!!! I’m so sick of the vampire movies they have today. This has great storytelling, excellent performance by former scream queen and oscar nominee Karen Black, an evil looking and scary head vampire, a spooky atmosphere, and enough gore effects to keep some gore-hounds satisfied)
Of Unknown Origin [1983] (A film about a father who must watch over the family home while his wife and son are away, but he soon goes to war with a giant rat that won’t leave him alone, and soon drives him insane. A great film about triumphing over life’s disturbances and a great performance by Robocop’s Peter Weller)
Dead Birds [2002] (A ghost story told in the old pre-Civil War west that includes demonic looking evil spirits and great jump scenes. It also has the best cinematography I have ever seen from a Straight to DVD film.)
The Resurrected [1992] (Based off of H. P. Lovecraft’s The Case of Charles Dexter Ward, this film starts off like any suspenseful thriller, but ends with a disturbing climax that will creep you out. Look out for some amazing creature effects.)
The Curse [1986] (Starring Wil Wheaton, this film centers mainly on pollution and water contamination, but weaves and interesting plot involving space slime and how a community’s religious control keeps the public from doing anything about the crisis. Cabin Fever is surly a cheap rip-off featuring the common Teenager/College horror motifs. Wheaton plays the hero in this film who is trying to save his family from the contamination and the community’s denial)
Nightbreed [1991] (A creepy creature feature from Clive Barker that has a unique twist in which the monsters are the good guys and man is the enemy. Before you get critical with the plot understand that this is a Clive Barker film, and yes, he pulls out all the amazing creature effects with this film. Look out for a unique performance by master of horror David Cronenberg.)
