I Have Ugly Armpits?!?

I am 14 girl and I have super ugly armpits that cause me pain and embarrassment. They have little skin-colored bumps everywhere (I think it might be the hair about to poke through?) even after I shave. Sometimes they are filled with pus. I also have a TON of ingrown hairs that cause large, painful lumps. My mom has to squeeze them for the pus to come out and then plucks the hair that pops out (sorry for that visual guys :/ ) for the pain to go away. I use a Venus 5 blade razor, Skintimate shaving cream, and a Secret deoderant. I have posted this question before, and the only one who answered told me to try Nair. I got the sensitive skin one, followed the directions, and it barely worked and left my skin burning, red, and raw. Waxing really isn’t an option because you have to wait for the hair to grow a certain length an I have volleyball 3-5 times a week and can’t have hairy armpits. I love to wear tanktops, but have been too embarrassed lately and am sad because the weather is getting warmer. How do I get nice, smooth armpits in time for spring and summer?!?! Thanks to all who answer maturely!!!! 🙂

It sounds like you are sensitive to some ingredients in the products you use, and your skin is really irritated.
First, you have to use a sharp blade when you shave. A dull blade snags your skin and causes irritation.
Second, don’t use any of those products you mention. The razor has a strip of chemicals, the shaving cream is all chemicals, and the deodorant is full of really bad chemicals too.
I use a razor without a weird chemical strip. The chemical strips give me rashes. Don’t buy the ones marketed to girls. Choose a plain razor without a strip. The curvy pink handles don’t improve your shave, and just cost you extra money. Get a plain black and grey men’s razor with replaceable heads and no strip. You will be happy you did.
I don’t ever use a shaving gel or cream, because they also irritate my skin. I use Dr Bronner’s All One Magic Soap – it comes in a liquid and a bar; I use the liquid. It is natural and doesn’t irritate my skin. I put plenty on so it’s thick and helps the blade slide, and apply more any time it rinses away.
When I quit using Secret, not only did I actually start to smell less and sweat less, I also had much better skin in my armpits. It takes a few days for your body to adjust, but it is so worth it. I use a natural deodorant now. You can get them at a lot of drugstores and natural foods stores. It works great as deodorant, but it isn’t as strong of an antiperspirant. That’s okay, though, because I just wash and change my shirt after working out anyway! Baby powder or cornstarch work as antiperspirant when you really need them, but they show up white so they aren’t ideal with a tank top.
Last, don’t shave every day, or even every other day. I know it sounds impossible, but your skin needs to heal and it can’t if you shave every day. Give yourself a break from shaving for at least a few days, as long as possible. Then try shaving without all the chemicals and see what happens!

That sucks. You should switch to liquid deodorant and maybe try a cheaper rzor blade so you can change it every week or every couple days if that’s what it takes. Well i guess it doesnt have to be cheaper but it also doesn’t have to have three to five rair Im not sure why they keep coming out with more and more multi-bladed razor blades but A two or three bladed razor works just as well and sometimes the multirazors are actually more irritating (or they seem to irritate me at least).Definitely keep using shaving cream cause you don’t want to irritate your arms even more but maybe try a new kind. Either way ditch the solid deodorant and switch to liquid.

Maybe you should try a different razor. You said waxing isn’t really effective so maybe change up the products you usually use entirely. Try a new shaving cream and new razor and if that doesn’t help then you can always go to a dermatologist. Hope this helps!

Try not shaving for a bit or wearing tight fitted clothing friction on your underarms can cause irritation. It could also be your deodorant so I would recommend changing brands or try using different types like a roll on or a spray.

Just grow big bushy armpit hair.
Then that’ll cover up the bumps.
