Which Approach Is Better To Raise Revenue: Raise Taxes Or Fix The Economy?

If the Democrats would stop depressing the economy with Obamacare, fees and their flood of regulation, we wouldn’t need to increase taxes to ‘raise revenue’. If we increase taxes while we are still, essentially, in a recession with 8% unemployment and record numbers on welfare and unemployment, what do Democrats figure will happen?
Why can’t they understand that it is they who are holding back this economy and that the best way to raise ‘revenue’ is to get people back to work and factories back up and running?
Oh, wait. I’m sorry. They don’t know how to fix the economy, but they DO know how to spend and raise taxes. So they’re only doing what they know how to do. Never mind. Here we go with another four years of recession under the Democrats.

I have a solution, but it will be difficult for everyone.
    1. Open all of the resettlement camps in California established by the first Great Leader, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, that were used for the Japanese Americans unfairly singled out because of the way they looked in WW2.
    2. Move all of the surplus FEMA trailers to the camps.
    3. Round up all of the long term welfare recipients, including all of the Babby Daddies associated with them, and their sympathizers (Democrats, registered since 1972).
    4. Move them all to the newly formed PRC (People’s Republic Of California), while relocated all of the residents or Orange, Riverside, and San Diego Counties that choose to leave and can pass basic citizenship qualifications, to New York, New Jersey, Northern Illinois, and the other vacated urban centers, and let them fix everything through the use of the free market and hard work,
    5. Grant the PRC independence, while leaving all of the military hardware that they haven’t protested against… they’ll be the world’s 6th largest economy, so they should be able to start off okay.
    6. Detonate the low yield nuclear devices along the super secret Cheney fault that runs the length of the Arizona/ Nevada border to the west and just north and west of Seattle.( Yes, Oregon and southern Washington will be part of the PRC.) this will let the greater PRC float freely approx. 50 miles into the Pacific Ocean, giving them the Eastern coastline they’ll need in order to re-establish New Manhattan, New New Jersey, while providing a blighted area, formerly known as the Mojave Desert for New Detroit, New Chicago, and Chocolate City.
    EDIT!
    I forgot…
    7. Establish Thunderdome at Candlestick Park and have a winner take all leadership, single elimination Golf/Basketball/Tree Hugging tournament to pick the next Great Leader.

    It’s not an “either-or” equation!
The administration is trying to fix the economy. It’s not something you can snap your fingers and make happen. We’re in a situation of sluggish global growth, it’s not even just the US.
Yes, an improvement in the economy will boost government revenue. everyone knows that.

  3. Hope says:

Not spending more than were collecting is the best policy.
Collecting more than what were spending is better because then you can start to pay the debt.
I think the way to go is to cut spending while increasing taxes to what they used to be under Clinton, but that’s just my opinion.

  4. yutsnark says:

“Fix the economy” can mean anything you want. Are you referring to paying off the debt? Eliminating the deficit? Increasing exports? Reducing unemployment? Reducing inflation? Reducing the gap between rich and poor? Increasing exports?

  5. Golfer says:

The corruption from the president, the supreme court and congress is going to be the downfall of America.
If they all followed the constitution we would never get to the point of collapse.

  6. Rocky says:

When Reagan cut taxes and regulations so businesses could prosper that brought America out of the worst recession since the ’30s.
People were able to get back to work and support themselves and their families again.

  7. GEORGE B says:

Increased taxes always result is increased costs to the economy and that depresses it. There isn’t any other possibility. Increased costs mean higher prices and fewer jobs. ALWAYS!!!

  8. Lou C. Ferr says:

    They need to STOP SPENDING.
That includes all the free money give away programs to foreign countries, generational welfare recipients, SS benefits to people who never paid into the program, etc., etc.

  9. Kjelstad 4.0 says:

Republicans spend far more than dems. They just scream about it when a dem is in office to make the pres look bad and screw the economy.

  10. Who Knew says:

Sorry, but it will continue to be spend, spend, spend.
