“I care more about my country than I do about a 20-year-old pledge,” Sen. Saxby Chambliss told Georgia television station WMAZ, a CNN affiliate, on Wednesday. “If we do it his way, then we’ll continue in debt and I just have a disagreement with him about that.”

    the pledge is silly – sometimes it is appropriate to raise taxes
    ignoring Grover isn’t necessarily the same as ‘obeying’ Obama. Besides the public is with Obama;s proposal

    I doubt they’re going to “obey Obama” in the way you imagine. It’s a freaking no taxes pledge that does nothing for us; anyone leaving it is a good sign.

    Why is Obama expected to fall in line with or compromise with Republicans but as soon as a Republican agrees to come to a compromise with the President he is “obeying” Obama?

    They will all fall in line. Its just the way they have to do it without looking weak. Thats cool and i can understand it.
