Of course it’s good. And it’s not just in America, this is a world wide phenomenon. The sooner we as a species throw off this yoke of religious oppression the sooner we can move on and become a more fruitful society. The more education people receive the more religion will fall by the wayside. There is less and less need these days for a “god of the gaps” to explain things for the ignorant.

It’s a very good thing. It’s a little concerned at times considering America is supposed to be the most advanced country on the planet and it’s full of mindless zombies who believe the world is less than 9000 years old and God made it in six days. I watched a clip the other day of Congressman Paul Broun who said that – “as a scientist” I believe the world is 9000 years old, God made it in six days and evolution and the big bang theory are straight from the devil – and then all his minions applauded his stupidity.
Having a religion is one thing, but blatantly spreading lies is another. And peoples personal beliefs should be kept out of politics. I think your Atheists should speak out more strongly against these fanatical nut cases.

I wonder what kind of indoctrination it took to get a supposedly intelligent person to believe that indoctrination only happens with relations to religion.
