In November 2008 I Voted For Barack Obama ?

partly because I didn’t see anything in McCain and much less in Palin. I listened carefully to all debates, promises and speeches. I saw a lot of differences in candidates and particularly liked Obamas assurance of open government. ••• •••He promised total transparency and Healthcare debate would be on CSPAN. ••• ••••He said there would be no individual mandate forcing the purchase of healthcare.
••• •••He promised no tax on anyone earning less than $250,00.
••• •••I think keeping people locked up indefinitely without a trial is wrong and believed Obama when he pledged to close guantanamo within a year. ••• •••I’d argue with anyone saying Obama didn’t take over a troubled ecconomy. I thought he was up to the challenge.
••• •••In January 2009 whe Obama took office I was a proud worker in a coal mine. I worked the same job position and company for 36 years. Now due to Obama’s love of environment over jobs I’m a 57 year old unemployed worker. New regulations closed down my job site. I now get a small weekly unemployment check and when it runs out I’ll simply drop out of the employment market helping the employment rate. I don’t have skills for mos jobs and don’t want a security position or to be a greeter at Wal-Mart.
•••. •••Healthcare was passed in secret without members of the House being allowed to read it. ••• ••••There is an individual mandate••• •••ObamaCare was ruled constitutional by Supreme Court of the United States of America because it’s a tax. Obama’s attorneys argued to the Justices it was a tax but he now says its not a tax. As a tax it mostly impacts those earning less than $50,000 annually. $50,000 is certainly and substancialy less than $250,000.••• ••• As a miner I was well paid. Maybe over paid but I did my job with pride and was proud. My income was sufficient to allow a nice house and cars. •••. ••• Now I face a very real possibility of loosing my home. I’ve had the home 22 years and raised two children in it. Why vote Obama?

  2. America's Bane says:

Billionaires and coal miners are the only ones I can understand supporting Romney. Anyone else is either insane or stupid.

  3. Agent 99 says:

I think you just answered your own question… Obama’s policies have been repeatedly UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

  4. Darren says:

I hear you, and I’m in much the same position. I’ve gone through more than half of my retirement savings. Have had to sell many possessions and am looking at losing my home if I don’t find a job. I’m well educated and a hard worker, but company’s just aren’t hiring and so much of that is because Obama’s policies are not pro business. I will not be voting for Obama again. I will be voting Romney/Ryan.

US Slips Down the Ranks of Global Competitiveness
    CNBC.com | September 05, 2012 | 04:04 AM EDT
The United States has slipped further down a global ranking of the world’s most competitive economies, according to a World Economic Forum (WEF) survey released on Wednesday.
The world’s largest economy, which was placed 5th last year, fell two positions to the 7th spot – marking its fourth year of decline.
A lack of macroeconomic stability, the business community’s continued mistrust of the government and concerns over its fiscal health were some of the reasons for the downgrade, according to the annual survey.
“A number of weaknesses are chipping away at its (the U.S.’) competitiveness…(for example) the U.S. fiscal imbalances and continued political deadlock over resolving these challenges,” said Jennifer Blanke, Economist at the Geneva-based WEF.
Political deadlock over reducing the unsustainable federal government budget deficit – projected to hit $1.1 trillion this year – prompted Standard & Poor’s to downgrade the country’s credit rating by one notch to AA+ from AAA last August.

Mr. Cuomo is then asked if this people in this group could have gotten the loans at all in the first place. In a telling response, he answers:
“They would not have qualified, but for this AFFIRMATIVE ACTION on the part of the bank…yes.”
Mr. Cuomo then confirms for a reporter that the affirmative action is indeed for minorities and that he expects the default rate to be higher than the rest of the portfolio:
“It is…by income it is mostly by minorities…yes.”

WASHINGTON, Sept. 29, 1999 — In a move that could help increase home ownership rates among minorities and low-income consumers, the Fannie Mae Corporation is easing the credit requirements on loans that it will purchase from banks and other lenders.
The action, which will begin as a pilot program involving 24 banks in 15 markets — including the New York metropolitan region — will encourage those banks to extend home mortgages to individuals whose credit is generally not good enough to qualify for conventional loans.

I don’t believe you. Why? As Shakespeare said, “Ye protest too much.” == In case you are uneducated, that usually reveals a lie.

  9. Robert says:

I voted for Barack Obama in 2008 and it was the biggest mistake I ever made in my life. I am ashamed to admit it but I hope that by admitting it I can persuade others not to make the same mistake. The man is a liar, a socialist and an idiot.

  10. Mel says:

To the questioner: You may as well wait for 2016 and vote DREAM2016 dotcom above all the others. This new person seems sincere and wants to help. Seems funding will be needed though. Your comments show the truth of the matter in various areas and the country needs someone to be honest and do the right thing for the USA.
