Is It Wrong For Tv News Shows To Report Murders And Robberies?

I was watching my local news on TV last night. Sometimes they read complaints from viewers. One viewer wrote that he was upset because the channel is reporting too much about murders and robberies in our area. He said that the news channel must have some sort of agenda for reporting these crimes and showing pictures of the people who are arrested. What sort of agenda could he be talking about? Is he mad because most of the suspects are minorities? There was one crime where the suspect was white, and they showed his picture just like all the others.
By the way, the news channel is my local Fox affiliate.

News consists of only two different subject. Good News and Bad News. That’s it. It’s either positive or it’s negative.
Bad news is so much easier to report. All they have to do is follow the cops around.

I would like to hear actual news on the news and not fluff stories about royals and celebrities. Like I care that Pippa is wearing a new dress or Tom Cruise got her haircut. I really hate it when they say things like, “What household product is lethal to you? We’ll tell you right after this great story on the engagement of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.” I always change the channel and miss the real news story. There is always an agenda in the media. Why else did they play all those bad news stories about Bush but always seem to put on the rose colored glasses for Obama.
