Job Interview @ 23 Weeks Pregnant?

Im currently 23weeks pregnant and work for a very large company in the UK. I have applied for a Marketing job which last 3months that never comes up in another area of the company that doesnt know im pregnant (but HR does). I want this job so bad and i believe i have a good shot of getting it. Everyone i have asked has told me that i should keep my pregnancy quiet due to discrimation against pregnant women. But i have gotten to know the department im apply for who have helped me out to get the job interview but i dont want to be dishonest as they have been so good to me. Should I tell them and risk not getting the job on the fact im pregnant or should i keep it a secret and if i manage to get the job then tell them?

  1. Go with the flow says:

Be honest, since it could cause a lot of “bad blood” when they find out later.
Everyone will think of you as a dis-honest person in the future.

they probably wont hire you, since they figure youll be using a butt load of insurance etc..

I wouldnt tell them until after you are hired, its not being dishonest if you just dont mention it. now if they were to ask you than, yes tell them but I wouldnt unless you are asked for some reason.

Get the job based upon this interview and then in three months give birth. Anyone with a pencil will figure that you didn’t mention it at the interview. Which, in management eyes, makes you a dishonest person. Be smart and professional. Go to the main person who has a strong say-so as to who gets the job. Explain that you just discovered that you were pregnant and that you would understand if they ask you to withdraw your application for this position. Say it to the boss, then keep your mouth shut and let he/she respond. Chances are, you will get the pleasant surprise of congratulations and be asked to remain in contention for the position. Do it my way. You’ll be better off, more confortable, and it will alert all as to your professionalism. Good Luck.
