I Really Want The Job I Hope I Did Not Mess Up,how Can I Make This Right?

But here is my question this job requires a security clearance,and it is some type of government affiliated place they provide different things for military airplanes,and stuff like that,I just applied for a janitor job it pays 11 an hr with plenty of benefits.But I lied on the application about my criminal history its not a bad one and its not a good one either I have not been in trouble since 08 and they are drug possesion.I want to be honest with them,I lied because I really wanted the job now I am nervous that not telling the truth will jeapordize me getting the job.What would be best at this point I really want it I could retire from there all them benefits..

    They’re likely going to do a background check and find out. They’re going to know either way, and I don’t think they’d appreciate being lied to. I’d talk to whomever you have to talk to in order to attempt to make it right. Good luck.

    No offense, I don’t think your workplace if going to spend 50$ on a background check for a janitor.

    I’m sorry, but there is no way you will get the job, no matter what you do at this point. If you admit you lied, you will immediately be disqualified for the job. If you don’t tell them the truth, when the do the background check (which they will certainly do since security clearance is required), they will find out the truth, and you will be immediately disqualified for the job. It doesn’t matter why you lied, the fact that you lied is enough, and even if you hadn’t lied, the drug possession would likely have kept you from getting the job anyway. Keep looking.
