Do You Think That The Love Pink Store From Victorias Secret Is Bad For Girls?

I myself shop occasionally at VS for underwear or nicer PJ’s, but would never bring my daughter into one of their stores. I have heard people say that marketing campaigns reflect our culture, but I think that is false, sometimes they attempt to DIRECT our culture. I cannot figure out how taking my daughter into a Love Pink store and exposing her to uber sexy underwear (and t-shirts, and yes even jogging suits) could be good for her. Is it really in a young girls best interest to be “hot”? And if not, why would we as consumers want to promote or advertise for a company that targeted 10 year old girls with sexy clothing?

The pink store isn’t targeted for 10 yearolds, it’s for college age girls. So therefore collegeage girls are mature enough to handle that line. I would never let my 10 year old shop there. If you go to http://www.pinknation.com you can see its targeted to college age girls. And notice how the models are all 17-23 years old and NOT 10 year olds. 10 year olds should stick to justice.

Well firstly it’s not targeted or fitted for 10 year old girls. It’s young women’s clothes. So no, obviously you’re little girl wouldn’t shop there. It’s meant for college age girls buying their own clothes. And on that note, they are old enough to dress themselves however they’d like. That’s called “growing up” and “expression”. Leave it be.

It’s not targeted for 10 year old girls…I’m not sure that you’d even find anything in there to fit a 10 year old. The “Pink” brand is for young adults/teenagers (15-early 20’s). If you are worried about the Victoria’s Secret Brand being too sexy for children then you need to turn off your tv when it’s time for commercials because when a true VS commercial comes on it’s almost a sex scene…so why be worried about the toned down cute/rhinestones version of “Love Pink.”
This question was annoying. It’s 2011, not 1950.
