Example Of Similar Species Feeding On The Same Prey?

I need an example of similar species that feed on the same prey that can coexist in an area together and void competition which is having different niches.

  1. Lyrica says:

Purple sea snails will prey own their own species when food is scarce or when food is unavailable anywhere else.

Coexisting species cannot avoid competing if they prey upon the same prey species, the very fact that they feed on the same species makes them competitors of one and other. Nonetheless, the second part of your question can be met. Lions, leopards and cheetahs are of course very similar in that they are all felines. They prey upon the same species, at least in part or overlap in their menus. Direct conflict and openly hostile competitive interactions are avoided by utilising different practices in going about their feeding – different niches.
Lions live and hunt conspicuosly on the open plains, cheetahs are more secretive and avoid living in the open where possible so as to stay clear of lions. Leopards are even more evasive and discrete, taking to the trees as their preferred base and retreat away from lions. At least some of their prey species are common – thomson’s gazelle being one.
