My grandparents try to dehydrate a lot of things, but can’t replicate okra from The Fresh Market. What is the secret?

I have a neighbor who dries hers on a clean sheet laid out in full sun. Bear in mind that our Summer days here in western Arkansas are 100-105 degrees.
I’ve been told that dehydrating the okra will rid it of the sliminess that some people don’t care for.
