What’s The Deal With These Random People Who Want To Fix My Car All The Time?

So I have a large scratch on my car door…
These people will come up to me at the gas station or get my attention when I’m at a red light and ask me if I want them to repair it. It’s happened to me close to 10 times in the past few months. And they seem to be all sorts of people, some drive crappy beat-up trucks, and some drive fairly new, nice SUV’s.
What’s the deal with this? Are they all affiliated or could it really be that there are just tons of people out there randomly doing the same thing?
The reason I ask is because it happens so often and each one has the same pitch — also, I can’t find anything online about this. There has to be something online about it!! Is it some sort of scam? It always reminds me of the people who try to sell you crappy stereos “for a fraction of the cost since their manager needs them to get rid of it”.

car repair is a cheap and easy business for people to start in their back yards, and is usually a cash deal. In this economy, everyone’s doing what they can to make some more $$$….

lol its nothing to worry about now days people are hurting for money sooo bad they are desperate and they see a sucker with a easy fix they figure ull pay out 100 bucks or so for them to fix a small scratch. its easy money for them. every one wants money but no one wants to work any more they try easy way out. plus if u got a scratch very deep it can start to rust u should fix it. but to be on the safe side if u let them fix it u need to be there dont drop it off or u never no what will happen. its a simple scratch fix so they shouldnt need it all day or nothing so no need to drop it off especialy being random people. but honestly i believe its people just needing money…. its not like they going to paint ur whole car over one scratch….. if they say that then run unless its a bussiness… u should also make him do it at ur house in ur drive way or garage by himself no company… unless u arent comfortable letting them no were u live then… just buy a scratch fixer pen at walmart they are designed pacificaly to fix lil scratches like this for like 5 bucks….
