which party would he most likely be affiliated? the DEMS or REPS?
He was against the notion of political parties.
Washington owned slaves, that means he would be a Republican.
He was against parties. But it seems to me he would be a Republican.
Ofcourse all the founders would be on the Republicans side because they started a revolution against big government.
He would raise an army to march on the traitors in WDC.
The first one he fought was over taxation without representation, and if he’s non-union, he’d be pretty pissed.
I was just thinking about that today. What a coincidence. I really think Washington and Co. would be really, really dissapointed with the Republican party and what they’re trying to do with the country on behalf of the richest of richest elite. Washington would be like, “Where did we go wrong?! How much more clearer can we be than the freaking Constitution we wrote?!”
The party he was a member of was immature and later fractured over the issue of whether to expand slavery to the territories so no help there. As a slave owner I believe he would have been a Republican.
Edit: As far as the issue of Democrats being pro-slavery in the civil war. Yes the Democrats were conservative. The Republicans were so in favor of a large Federal Government they fought a war over it and as Liberals the Republican party was also anti-slavery. That is not spin in any way. That is just the facts.
Actually, if you do a little research you learn that Washington and Hamilton were two big central government liberals. Jefferson and Madison were Conservatives that opposed them.
That’s why the lamestream media props Washington up all the time. He was one of them.
He fought AGAINST tyranny and oppression and FOR liberty and freedom. So he would be a Republican. A Conservative one.
He wouldn’t be affiliated with any parties. In his farewell address he warned that America must never develop political parties. This development would lead us into tyranny and void the revolution that was fought for our freedom. He would probably have a heart attack and die instantly upon discovery marijuana is illegal (he had two plantations), guns are basically illegal, that the patriot act exists, and that the United States is a member of a global alliance set to destroy liberty.
Republican, based on the fact the majority if the founders feared a strong central government. A strong central government is something the democrats want to impose on us.
