Two individuals in my unit happened to causes SIR’s this past weekend. My leave was already approved but the commander took every one’s leave away due to it. My leave is also religion affiliated due to easter. Can this really happen?

Of course it can happen. Leave is at the discretion of the commander.

Leave is at the discretion of your commander. If he wants to deny your unit leave then that is his right. Hence why there is that little box on the DA31 that is for the Commanders Approval Signature. There is already a 4 day federal holiday over Easter. So if you want to go the religion route you are SOL.
@ USAF Brat well the in the Army it is a 4 Day holiday.

Leave is always at the discretion of the commander. And if he feels that no one should have leave, then that is his call.
As for Easter, I’m sure they will allow you time to attend worship services on Sunday. But remember, Service before Self. Your job comes before religious obligations – hubby has missed plenty of worship services due to job commitments. He was able to attend Ash Wednesday service, but missed every other Lenten service, and he won’t be able to attend Maundy Thursday service.
@Wraeth…. Easter is NOT a 4 day Federal Holiday. Our base will be up and running at full manning both Good Friday and Easter Monday. It is up to the service and to the base if they give their folks a 3 day weekend.
