How Long Will It Take For Money Deposited In A Bank In Japan To Arrive In A Bank In The Philippines?

Someone from Japan will be sending me money from there and I am in the Philippines. My bank does not have any branch in Japan but it has a list of affiliated banks there. The money will be deposited in an affiliated bank in Japan. After how many days will the deposit register here?

usually it’s an OVERNIGHT clearing.. but is there some reason they can’t just use WESTERN UNION to send it… About $5 to send $500 and it’s just a matter of HOURS and Western Union does all the currency conversions for you.

Mine took about 1 to 2 business days and it was with the same branch: from Metrobank Japan to a Metrobank branch in the Philippines. For affiliate banks, I’m guessing it would take longer. Give it 5 business days tops.

bank transfers are internet transactions and therefore could happen in minutes. however banks have different policies about availability of funds (clearing period). in most cases you may avail of the funds within 3-5 business days.

Since it’s not direct bank to bank…3 working days…weekend days not included. It goes through the Central Bank..then to your bank.
    So Friday AM….Tuesday PM….but if it’s Friday PM…Weds PM…after 2 PM.
