They were probably raised in ‘tha hood’ and once their raps got out and they got famous, they would move away to richer areas of American but still R.E.P.R.E.S.E.N.T their gangs in songs so it wouldnt be so obvious that they dumped their gangs for fame.

Most rappers are ex gang members who wanted to leave the gang life in the hood behind, If they hop on a record and talk about how many drugs there slanging or how many people there killing then there not real. A real gang member would never do that kind of stuff there not stupid and they know who’s listening. They might make a story about how there friends got killed or how they feel about the gang life but any rapper who glorifies it is a phony.
Lil Wayne is a fake blood btw, listen to this cat called Mitchy Slick he’s a real blood from my hometown San Diego, CA he says he would never talk about or glorify what he does/did in the streets on a record because rapping is an alternative to gangs for some, plus like I said police are listening.
That’s how you know if a rapper is really bangin or not.
