Ubuntu 10.10 For Ppc Mac **under 700 Mb**?

Does anybody have a copy of Ubuntu 10.10 for PPC that is under 700 MB? The only one I can find is located here: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ports/daily-live/current/ . Under the download link it says “Warning: This image is oversized (which is a bug) and will not fit onto a standard 700MB CD. However, you may still test it using a DVD, a USB drive, or a virtual machine.” . Can someone modify this disc image to fit in a 700 MB cd?
Thanks For The Help,
Ben

10.10 hasn’t been released yet. It won’t be until October.
I would suggest installing 10.04 instead, which is under 700 MB:http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ports/releases…
From there you can dist-upgrade to 10.10. If you don’t know what a dist-upgrade is, then you definitely should not be using 10.10, as it hasn’t been released yet.

If you can’t get Ubuntu 10.04 to run right, version 10.10 is not going to fix what ever issue you are having.

I want to second what Jessica Queller said. In fact give her best answer. There are three types of distros, stable, testing and unstable. Ubuntu, after the release date, is usually stable. The 10.10 means its release date is October 2010. Before then it goes through phases where some programs will not work correctly and where some programs usually will not work correctly. Unstable and Testing releases are for people who like problem solving and they are part of what Open Source is about.
You can actually install 10.10 using either apt or synaptic, but unless you can show you are prepared for the FURTHER problems you WILL face, we will not tell you how. You can look it up but we won’t tell you hhow.
