Is This Gun-deal Literally To Good To Be True?

ok so i use this site which is like a craigslist fore guns i have used it before and had no problem with it but theirs always a lingering threat of being robbed or scammed because you never know who your buying from and i think this might be a scam or something i don’t know it just seems fishy he is selling a semi auto chinese SKS three 30 round magazines 100 bullets and ten 10 round clips all for only $500 and i’m thinking of buying it but it seams fishy because every other sks is $1500 just for the gun by itself i need advise :/ and as i said before it is a pretty trusty site and the only “problem” i had was wen i was selling a pistol and when i got to the buyers house it was a 13 year old kid

I’ll let you in on a secret that me and every other person that has owned a semi automatic rifle before December knows:
That is the fair asking price of an SKS and everyone else on (I’m guessing) armslist is selling them for 2 to 3 times the price. Same applies for AKs and ARs. Believe it or not, but 4 months ago, I didn’t see an SKS for sell at a gun show for over $500 and that was top dollar. Less than 4 months ago, that rifle could be had with a 30 round detachable mag and Tapco furniture for $299.
Those rifles that are being sold for $1000+ are being sold by price gougers who are taking an advantage of all of the gun ban media to make a profit on other shooters. Don’t be fooled. $1500 for an SKS?! That will afford you not just an AR15, but a NICE AR15. Hell, that will afford you two S&W M&P15s at Wal mart.
So doing the math, what we have is:
An SKS – $399 is a fair price
    Three 30 round mags – $20(3)= 60$
    10 Stripper Clips – $10
100 rounds of what is more than likely cheap steel cased Russian ammo that sells at $6/pack of 20 – $6(5) = $30
Adding that up we have $399+$60+$10+$30=$499
I would say that $500 is a fair price. I don’t feed the price gougers pockets. If I were in the market for an SKS, I would shoot that guy an email before someone else does. And thank him for not gouging the pockets of fellow American shooters! In these political times we have to have each others backs because there are several people in Congress, Senate, and the White House that do NOT have our best interest at heart.

The people wanting 1500 for a SKS arent selling them. Sure they are asking 1500 but no one is buying because they are out of their minds asking that much. Doesn’t mean that this guy isn’t going to sell you some broken piece of junk or that its not a good deal. See if you can arrange to meet him and check the gun out well. Ideally you could meet at a local range and test fire the gun but I understand thats not always possible. If you know what to look for you can have a good idea what condition the gun is in just by looking at it. Meet in a semi public place at normal hours and you won’t have to worry about getting robbed.

I’m not sure where you would pay $1,500 for an SKS and unless it’s been converted, they don’t take 30 round magazines. I just paid $350 for an unfired Chinese SKS at our local show. The seller was asking $375. If it has a tactical conversion done to it, he may be including the cost of that into the selling price. If so, and you like the conversion, the price isn’t too far off. Just be aware that you aren’t getting an incredible deal on a $1,500 rifle. You are paying top dollar for a rifle that can be had in standard condition for under $400.

what Harry said, makes me sick to see people jack up prices over propaganda, and also to see people just lose their minds and start paying the outrageous prices.

  5. Higgy Baby says:

I just can not imagine anyone paying $1500 for a chink sks. My son bought one a few years back, with many mags and ammo, for like $120 at a gun show.

    * No not really, because there are some people who don’t know the value of something, or the value of everything.*

  8. Hey man, nice shot! says:

Yep, that’s most definitely a scam. Just saying, 99.9% of all buyers and sellers online are scammers…
that 13 year old must have been pretty stupid lmao
