Affiliate Marketing Secrets

I’m going to soon launch a niche internet site that will be used as a records management tool. I was thinking of offering a free version with ads and a paid version without ads. From what I gather, that’s how Yahoo works. I could also split the gamut of features offered to allow a basic services package for free and delux services for paid members.
I’d like to keep it as simple as I can, but I’ll need to generate some revenue too…
What do you guys think?

I became self employed after an injury this February, and started making enough $$$ to cover my expenses as an Independent Contractor. I need some good affiliate programs and/or advertising programs where I can advertise products, businesses etc on my site and get paid for it, any suggestions?
Also, not Google AdSense or Yahoo Ads.

This appears to be affiliate marketing, because he showed a clickbank earnings report. The one time cost for joining is $97, but if one try to leave the main web page, one is prompt and can get the one time cost drop to $49.99. Please, I would love to get some feed back on this. Thanks
