I had applied online for an “AMERICAN EXPRESS PLATINUM CARD” and got a reply that said someone would be contacting me. About a week later I got a call that said my online application had been approved and I was going to be receiving an “EXPRESS PLATINUM CARD” with a credit limit of $5,000. If I would like to get this card then I needed to pay the first years fee’s of $99. I said ok. They read off my bank account information and that was that. Two weeks later I didn’t receive my card so I called their number 800-887-2636 and was told that they are an online shopping store and the credit is with their store only and they are not affiliated with American Express. I ask for a refund and was told that there is no refunds. I ask for a copy of our recorded phone conversation and was told that it was not in their policy to do so. I had to close my bank account (incase they try to take more money) and file a form to try to recover the money. I am trying to file a complaint with the BBB but you have to have an address and I have tried calling them back and they put me on hold for hours then hang up. Google does not pull up any address…just other peoples complaints. Anyone else go thru this?

Salams. I was sitting in a library where they had a cross hanging near where I was sitting and it had a “dying person with arms stretched” on it. Obviously this was some kind of religious affiliated library and they possibly had many of these crosses all over the library.
I didn’t feel comfortable sitting in this library at first but then I forgot. I’m wondering if it’s haram to be in this place or if it’s OK to be in this place. I know many Muslims who study in Catholic schools so I’m assuming they are such crosses in their schools all the time, but I just want to make sure otherwise I wont go back to this library. J.Z.K.

What do I do when I don’t like my girlfriends friends? Its really a problem for me, I’m 21 I’m a marine and I’m proud of what I’ve did for my country while in Afgan, and I c life and stuff for what it is, I don’t fabricate things or try and b anything I’m not. And her friends are ghetto and always are trying to fight or act thought to prove themselfs. I don’t affiliate with that type of crowd, but I know not all her friends are like that and Idk if its just me Bec I wont and never have taken the time to try and get to know them or what.. any advice?
